Methyl methacrylate (MMA), is a kind of organic compounds, chemical formula for C5H8O2, colorless liquid, slightly soluble in water, soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol, mainly used for organic glass monomer, also used in the manufacture of other resins, plastics, coatings, adhesives, lubricants, wood and cork infiltration agents, paper, polish, etc.
Application of Methyl Methacrylate
1. Used for manufacturing plexiglass, paint, lubricating oil additive, wood wetting agent, paper polishing agent, etc.
2. Methyl methacrylate is not only an organic chemical raw material, but also can be directly used as a chemical product. As an organic chemical raw material, it is mainly used in the production of plexiglass (polymethacrylate,PM-MA), also used in the production of ACR, the auxiliary agent of POLYvinyl chloride, and the production of acrylic fiber as the second monomer. In addition, it is widely used in adhesive, coating, resin, textile, papermaking and other industries. As a kind of chemical products, can be directly used in leather, ion exchange resin, paper, polish, textile auxiliaries, leather treatment agent,lubricating oil additive, crude oil, wood and soft wood infiltration agents, motor coil soaking agent, insulating pouring material and plastic type emulsion of plasticizer, floor polishing, unsaturated resins, senior methacrylate and many other fields.
3. Organic synthetic monomers. It is also used in the manufacture of other resins, plastics, paints, adhesives, scale inhibitors and dispersants, lubricants, wood wetting agents, motor coil wetting agents, paper glazing agents, printing and dyeing auxilaries and insulation perfusion materials.
4. As a monomer of plexiglass, it is also used in the manufacture of other resins, plastics, paints, adhesives, lubricants,
wetting agents of wood and cork, paper glazing agents, etc.
