Bisphenol A

Bisphenol A is an organic compound containing functional groups. Under normal circumstances, it is a white needle-like crystal or flaky powder with a faint phenolic odor. Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride, soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene and dilute alkaline solution. It has stable chemical properties and mainly reacts rapidly with hydroxyl radicals during the degradation process in the atmosphere. It is obtained by the condensation of phenol and acetone in an acidic medium. It can be used as a chemical raw material to produce various polymer materials such as polycarbonate, epoxy resin, polyester resin, polysulfone resin, polyphenylene ether resin and unsaturated polyester resin. It is also used in the production of fine chemical products such as plasticizers, flame retardants, plastic antioxidants, heat stabilizers, rubber anti-aging agents, ultraviolet absorbers, as well as fungicides and coatings.
