It is not soluble in water, but can be miscible with alcohols, ketones, esters, etc. Dimethyl carbonate is a kind of chemical raw material with low toxicity, excellent environmental protection performance and wide use. It is an important organic synthesis intermediate. DMC contains carbonyl, methyl, methoxy groups and other groups, which has good reaction performance and can replace highly toxic phosgene, dimethyl sulfate, chloride methane and so on as carbonylation agents, methylation agents and methoxylating agents.
