Tetrachloroethylene/Perchloroethylene(PCE):

It is a colorless transparent liquid with a chloroform-like odor.

Insoluble in water, but soluble in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents.The tetraenes without adding stabilizer are heated to 140ºC, which has no obvious corrosion on common metals. When tetraenes without adding stabilizer are contacted with water for a long time under the action of light, trichloroacetic acid and hydrogen chloride are gradually generated, which are corrosive

Application

 

1. Tetrachloroethylene is widely used, mainly as metal degreasing solvent, and also as an anthelmintic. 
2. It is widely used as dry cleaning agent for natural and synthetic fibers. It can also be used as degreasing detergent for metals, general solvent and organic synthesis intermediate.
3. It is used as a standard material for chromatographic analysis. 
4. Insect repellents and fat extractants for adhesives, and organic synthesis.
