Maleic Anhydride (MA) is an organic compound. The molecular formula is c4h2o3 and the molecular weight is 98.06.
It is mainly prepared by the oxidation of n-butane or butene in benzene or C4 fraction. The
solid maleic anhydride is white flake live granular crystal, easy to sublimate, soluble in alcohol,
ether and acetone, with a relative density of 1.48 (20 ºC solid) or 1.30 (70 ºC liquid), and a
boiling point of 202 ºC. It is easy to deliquesce in water to form maleic acid.
