Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC)

Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is an important organic synthesis intermediate. It is a transparent liquid at room temperature with a slight fragrance. It is insoluble in water but miscible with alcohols, ketones, esters, etc. in any proportion. It has excellent reactivity and can be used as a carbonylation agent, methylating agent and methoxy agent. In production, it features safety, convenience, low pollution and easy transportation, and is thus hailed as "a new base in the field of organic synthesis in the 21st century".
