Vinyl acetate  is an organic compound with the formula CH3CO2CH=CH2. This colorless liquid is the precursor to polyvinyl acetate and ethene-vinyl acetate copolymers, important industrial polymers. Vinyl acetate is the acetate ester of vinyl alcohol. It can be polymerized to give polyvinyl acetate (PVAc). With other monomers it can be used to prepare various copolymers such as ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), vinyl acetate-acrylic acid (VA/AA), polyvinyl chloride acetate (PVCA)

Applications

1. mainly used in the production of polyethylene enzyme and its derivatives. Therefore, vinyl acetate is often not treated after polymerization, and is directly used as the raw material of polyethylene enzyme.

 

2. vinyl acetate solution, emulsion and its molten state can be used as paper, cloth, wood, leather and other adhesives.

 

3. vinyl acetate can be used as varnish, coating, film elasticity and good luster.

 

4. Adding vinyl acetate to cement can increase the tensile strength and wear resistance of cement.

 

5. vinyl acetate with plasticizer can be made of artificial leather.
